Artistic Design and Concept

A stylized wall is the result of a thoughtful composition that is well integrated with the rest of your decor.

  • Think about relief and texture: the play of shadows adds movement and depth.
  • Enhance with lighting: good lighting can highlight every detail of your cladding. Incorporating recessed lights or wall sconces changes everything.
  • Add a living touch: living walls (consider high-end, low-maintenance options, such as those offered by Verdura Design), built-in frames, or even hanging planters to combine decor and greenery.
  • Don’t forget color! It doesn’t have to blend with the same tones. On the contrary, a well-chosen contrast can make all the difference and turn the wall into a focal point.

A wall becomes a work of art when it evokes emotion. Let your style speak, whether it’s modern, raw, or bold.

Assessment of the Existing Wall

Before grabbing the trowel and big transformation ideas, you first need to understand the surface you’re working with.

  • Interior or exterior wall? The type of wall (brick, concrete, plaster, etc.) will influence the choice of cladding and preparation.
  • Visible defects: crumbling bricks, stained concrete, poorly lit areas. Identify the flaws, but also see the potential.
  • Structural inspection: a damp, cracked, or poorly insulated wall will need to be repaired before any transformation.

Note:

Consult a specialist, such as a mason, to guide you if needed before starting any work.

Prepare the Surface According to the Type of Wall

Before any installation, the quality of the preparation determines the success of your project.

  • Concrete or brick wall: thoroughly clean the surface to remove dust, flaking paint, or residue. If the wall is porous or uneven, apply a bonding primer to improve adhesion. Damaged joints should be scraped out to a depth of 1.5 to 2 cm, then brushed clean.
  • Plaster or drywall wall: install a galvanized metal lath attached to the studs, then apply a scratch coat mortar to create a solid base. This rough layer helps the cladding anchor properly.

Choosing Rinox Materials

This is where aesthetics meet technique. Rinox cladding offers a wide range of textures, finishes, and formats to bring your vision to life.
